Extension and Renovations at Holt and Melton Surgery

New Extension at Holt Surgery & Refurbishment of Melton Surgery
Holt Medical Practice have now received approval from the NHS bodies that commission our services to extend the current premises at Holt Surgery.
The practice is very pleased to announce that the new extension to the rear of the building is cleared to start on 7 June 2021. This building will support the practice to be able to provide services in a sustainable way.
The extension will be to the rear of the existing building to create another wing: Wing D. It will provide:
• 7 additional consulting rooms (both for in person and virtual consultations)
• The ability to offer more appointments and a variety of different services
• A large training / group consultation room for both staff and community use
• An overall improvement to the patient experience
In addition to the new extension, all existing consultation rooms and public areas will be being upgraded and redecorated.

Disruption at Holt Surgery
We apoligise in advance for the additional road noise and traffic that will be experienced on the Kelling Hospital site during the building works (7 Jun 2021 – 23 Dec 2021). We will endeavour to minimise any impact to the residents and users of the site.
Throughout the project, there will also be some disruption to clinical rooms and public spaces as we redecorate and upgrade our facilities throughout. We will endeavour to ensure the impact on our ability to deliver business as usual from the Holt Surgery is as minimal as possible.
Melton is undergoing a well overdue refurbishment. All consultation rooms, waiting and staff areas, toilets and car parks will be affected. The reception/waiting area is getting a face lift and all clinical areas are being upgraded in line with current infection, prevention and control guidelines. The result will create a more professional healthcare centre for us all.
Disruption & Closure at Melton Surgery
Works will start 28th June and run until 24th September. During this period there will be some disruption and for a 7-week period (9th Aug to 24th September) the Surgery will close entirely for consultations but remain open (from a temporary hatch) for medication collections and ordering.
We are so excited for these works to be undertaken. It will have a positive impact to the patient experience at Melton and at Holt it will mean we are able to host a wider range of services where previously space was a limiting factor. We realise the disruption may feel painful along the way, but hopefully it will be short-lived, and the end result will be worth it. We are very grateful for your patience and understanding during this period.
