If you are planning to travel abroad and require travel vaccinations, please contact the practice as early as possible. We hold one travel clinic per month.
Holt Medical Practice can only provide travel vaccination appointments for patients who are travelling at least 8 weeks from the date of their request. This is because vaccinations need to be given at least 6 weeks before travel to ensure adequate protection.
If you are travelling sooner than this, you may need to arrange your vaccinations through an alternative travel clinic, details of which are below.
Travel vaccinations available at the practice
We currently offer the following NHS travel vaccinations where clinically appropriate:
- Hepatitis A
- Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio (combined vaccine)
- Typhoid
- Cholera
We do not currently offer yellow fever or malaria vaccinations.
How to request a travel clinic appointment
The practice has a limited number of travel vaccination appointments available each month. Appointments are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
If all available appointments have been allocated and you are unable to wait for the next available clinic, you may need to arrange your travel vaccinations through an alternative provider.
- Contact the practice to discuss your travel plans using an online form or by calling the reception team on (01263) 712 461.
- If no travel appointments are readily available, you will be added to a waiting list. The reception team will then contact you to offer the next available appointment.
Important information
To comply with clinical guidance and Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements, your travel health advice and any vaccinations must be provided by the same healthcare provider.
This means that if you receive your travel assessment and advice from another travel clinic, you should also receive your vaccinations from that provider.

Alternative travel vaccination providers
If the practice is unable to accommodate your request, private travel clinics may be able to assist.
