Practice Nurse

  • 2 – 3 days per week (up to 28.5 hrs p/w)
  • £17.00 – £21.00 p/h depending on experience/qualifications

We are looking for 2 –  days p/w of experienced Practice Nurse cover to enhance our Nursing Team at Holt Medical Practice. COPD experience is mandatory for this position.

The Surgery

We are a large practice with 14,000 patients and 7 GP Partners. We have a strong nursing team consisting of Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Phlebotomists and Paramedics. Our main site at Holt is a modern, airy, purpose-built Surgery with a hybrid Pharmacy on site. We have two branch sites in the nearby villages of Melton Constable and Blakeney. Although busy, we are a relaxed, welcoming and harmonious Practice.

The Role

Sessions will consist of a mix of on the day minor illness appointments and regular chronic disease management, COPD mainly, and practice nurse appointments. Slot times are generous and vary from 10 – 30 mins depending on the appointment type and sessions include protected tea breaks and admin time. Our Practice Nurses work across both of our sites (Holt and Melton Constable) and there is open door support available from our duty doctors and experienced Nurse Manager at all times.

Benefits

6 weeks annual leave, NHS pension and additional MDU indemnity come as standard plus up to one week’s paid study leave. We have a good company sick pay policy and staff discount at our onsite pharmacy. We would be willing to support the right candidate in obtaining their prescribing qualification.

Ideal Candidate

Will be a confident and motivated Practice Nurse with previous experience of General Practice Nursing, minor illness and chronic disease management. A prescribing qualification is not essential. Candidates should have good IT, organisational, communication and clinical skills as well as a sound understanding of QOF, Enhanced Services and CQC/NICE guidelines. A good sense of humour goes a long way.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

  • 2-3 days per week
  • £21.50 – £25.50 per hour (depending on experience)

We are looking for 4 – 6 sessions (over 2 to 3 days) of Advanced Nurse Practitioner time to enhance our Nursing Team at Holt Medical Practice in North Norfolk.

The Surgery

We are a large, coastal, North Norfolk practice with 14,000 patients. Our main site at Holt is a large purpose-built Surgery with a hybrid Pharmacy adjoining it. We have a large clinical team consisting of 10 x GPs, 3 x Paramedics, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Mental Health workers and a Physio. Although busy, we are a relaxed, hard-working, welcoming, and harmonious Practice.

The Role

You will be directly employed by Holt Medical Practice to work with our existing clinical team to deliver the best healthcare service to our patients. One focus of our Nurse Practitioners is to assist our Duty Team with the on-the-day patient demand through telephone and face to face consultations.

Your core hours will be between 08.00 – 18.30 Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch and 2 x 20-minute tea breaks. You will be entitled to 6 working weeks annual leave plus your pro rata entitlement to bank holidays and a reasonable amount of paid study leave. NHS pension and additional MDU indemnity come as standard together with free, onsite parking.

The Ideal Candidate

Will be an experienced and motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Ideally, they will be an Independent Prescriber, although this is not essential. Primary Care experience would be preferable, and knowledge of chronic disease management would be an asset.  They should have good IT skills, excellent organisational, communication and clinical skills and a good understanding of QOF, Enhanced Services and CQC guidelines.
