Data Quality Manager at Holt Medical Practice, North Norfolk

  • 3 – 4 full days a week, days to be agreed.
  • Holiday: 5 weeks (plus pro rata of Bank Holidays).
  • £14 – £17per hour depending on experience (£27,300 – £33,200 FTE)

We are a large practice with over 14,000 patients, 8 Partners and a wide mix of healthcare professionals and administration staff. Our main site at Holt is a modern, airy, purpose-built Surgery with on-site Pharmacy and free parking. We also have two branch sites in the nearby villages of Melton Constable and Blakeney. Although busy, we are a relaxed, welcoming, and harmonious Practice.

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a GP Practice Data Quality Manager to join our friendly, innovative, and forward-thinking team. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and be organised, dynamic, hard-working, and good-humoured. They should have a focus on quality, head for numbers and a drive for improvement.

The role of the Data Quality Manager involves ensuring that data quality standards and procedures are effectively communicated and adhered to across the Surgery, by all staff. It also involves working with our GP Clinical Leads to ensure clinically generated records are of a high quality and patient care is optimised and working alongside the GP QOF lead to assist in monitoring the performance of practice targets against QOF compliance, as well as other GP contracts IIF/LCS/DES.

It can involve detailed clinical, administrative and appointment searches (via our clinical record system) together with project and change management of data quality improvements, initiatives, and innovations. The role also involves conducting regular audits and providing recommendations to address any non-compliance issues.

The Data Quality Manager would be part of the Practice’s Business Management Team and work closely with the Business and Practice Managers, IT Manager, Administration Manager and GP Clinical Leads. They would hold a senior role within the Practice.

To be successful as our Data Quality Manager you will need to:

  • Have excellent attention to detail and methodical working.
  • Be numerate with advanced IT skills (MS Office – Access, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Be able to handle sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Be able to work calmly under pressure in order to manage an unpredictable workload and perform to tight deadlines.
  • Be able to compile, interrogate and analyse data to produce meaningful and accessible management reports and make appropriate suggestions.

There is no need for any previous NHS experience as training can be provided. However, it would be desirable for candidates to also have an understanding of health-management and of NHS business and administrative processes.

Previous experience of EMIS (our clinical system) and NHS IT infrastructure generals (including running and creating searches), system requirements and quality standards would also be helpful.
