IT Support and Development Lead

  • £16 – £17 p/h depending on experience,
  • 4 – 5 days a week (37.5 hrs)

About the Surgery:

We are a large practice with over 14,300 patients, 7 GP Partners, a mix of salaried GP’s, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, HCA’s, physiotherapist, and social prescribers. Our main site at Holt is a modern, airy, purpose-built Surgery which has just underdone a renovation and extension, to provide 5 more clinical rooms and administration space. We have two branch sites in the nearby villages of Melton Constable and Blakeney. Although busy, we are a relaxed, welcoming, and harmonious Practice.

As IT Support, you will lead on maintenance, connectivity and hardware. You will diagnose and fix faults, support staff who use the systems, and liaise with local ICN and NHS support services and contractors.

In your role as IT Development Lead you will lead on the development and initiation of operational improvements, using technology and new initiatives, that will benefit staff and patients alike, improve data quality and system-wide efficiencies.

Duties

Your main Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Maintain computers and connectivity for our users and clinical system, EMIS.
  • Create, log, update, prioritise and resolve incidents or service requests.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration.
  • Respond efficiently to queries and tasks from staff by providing support to staff with any technical issues or poor user experiences.
  • Manage communications and escalate problems to external companies and NHS support agencies
  • Play a key role in employee inductions and exits – specifically setting up new users on Windows, NHS Email, Smartcards and ICE
  • Support with phone and security systems and lead on new developments in the same.
  • Proactively research, identify and develop solutions to software and hardware issues and new technical improvements.
  • Support and develop patient facing apps such as NHS App, AccuRx and electronic communications to patients.
  • Create knowledge-based operating procedures for staff
  • RA Identity checker and sponsor
  • Work within EMIS to enhance and develop protocols and concepts
  • Work alongside the Data Quality Lead to enhance standards throughout the Surgery

Experience

Your experience should include:

  • Experienced in Windows 7 and 10.
  • Understanding of MS Server 2012+ specifically Active Directory and folder permissions.
  • Office 365 experience would be beneficial.
  • EMIS clinical system experience would be beneficial, but training will be provided.
  • Understanding of DA, VPN, WAN and LAN plus diagnosing faults.
  • Ability to support staff at different levels of ICT knowledge and experience.
