Switching to the NHS app

Ordering your medication safely, securely and at your convenience – use the NHS App.

The NHS App

If you are a patient at our practice, you can use the NHS App to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.

Once you have verified your identity in the app, you will have easy, 24/7 access to a range of health services and information.

You can use the NHS App to:

  • Order your repeat prescriptions
  • Check your test results
  • Check the date and time of your upcoming appointments
  • View your hospital referrals
  • Check your vaccination status
  • Access general NHS health advice and information
  • Send us messages via the online forms

Ordering your Repeat Medication

Using the NHS App to order your repeat medication is secure and easy.

Under “Services” select “Request repeat medication” and then tick the medication that you require.

We kindly ask that, wherever possible, you leave 7 days between ordering your medication and coming to collect it. E.g. if you order it on a Monday, collect it the following Monday. This period allows time for the request to be processed, scripts to be generated, signed and stock to be ordered and prepared.

The NHS App provides us with a secure audit trail of exactly when your prescription was ordered and allows us to help with any queries. There is also room for a short message for the Prescription enquiries team.

Contact us via the NHS App:

  • Send us an online query about your symptoms, conditions, or treatment directly to the surgery.
  • You can also contact us with non-urgent administrative queries such as requests for fit-notes or questions about insurance letters.

Linked NHS App Profiles

You can use the NHS App to help someone else manage elements of their healthcare by LINKING profiles. You can apply to the surgery to have order medication or book appointments for people you care for (including children). In limited cases you may also be able to have access to the full health record of others.

Help with NHS App

If you have any problems using the NHS App, you can select ‘help’ in the top right-hand corner of the app or visit nhs.uk/helpmeapp. As we ask patients to start using NHS App we will be providing some drop-in sessions and gurus within our team who are trained to help make is as seamless as possible for you.

Patient Access

If you already use Patient Access we will be asking you to move across to the NHS App in the near future. By the end of 2024 Patient Access will no longer be available to our patients.
