Holt Medical Practice has recently purchased x2 new Medication Collection Boxes located at Holt Surgery and Blakeney Village Hall.

These new Medication Collection Boxes allow eligible patients enhanced flexibility and choice by allowing 24/7 collections.
When medication is ready to collect, patients will receive a text containing their unique collection code to enter at the Box which will prompt for payment (if applicable) and then release their medication.
Who Can Use the Collection Boxes?
For many patients, the Boxes will be a more flexible alternative than being restricted to collecting during usual opening hours.
Unfortunately, patients who are regularly prescribed the following will not be able to use the Box:
- fridge items,
- locked controlled drugs, or
- whose orders are too large or too heavy to fit safely in the Box.
These patients will be able to discuss other alternatives with the counter staff.
The Sign-Up Process
To sign up to use the pharmabox, patient will need to complete a form.
Click here for a copy of the Blakeney sign-up form.

Patients can return forms or seek assistance, during opening hours, at:
- Kelling Pharmacy counter (at Holt Surgery) or
- Blakeney Surgery Reception (which will remain open until the end of June 2025).
The sign-up paperwork will ask patients to provide:
- A mobile number (it does not need to be a smartphone, and it can be someone else’s mobile number who can collect medication on the patient’s behalf); and
- Their exemption status (so the Box knows whether the patient usually pays for their medication).

How to use the box
The next time you order your medication, you will receive a text when it is ready to collect from the Box. This text will contain your unique collection PIN.
Please see below a short video of Jane, our Superintendent Pharmacist, using the Collection Box and simply explaining each stage as she goes along.

REMEMBER:
- After 60 seconds the flap will lock shut
Your medication will become locked inside and the Box becomes unusable by others until someone attends to unlock it. - The Collection Code Expires After 3 days
Patients will get a reminder text when there is just 24 hours left for them to collect their medication. After 3 days have passed, all packages with expired codes will be removed from the Box and taken to Kelling Pharmacy at Holt Surgery for collection during opening hours. - During the First Few Weeks
Staff will be on hand at the Collection Boxes (between 9-11am) for anyone that would like some support with their first collection. - Change of information form
It is important that you let us know of any changes to your mobile phone number or exemption status as soon as possible. You can complete the Change of Patient Information form and hand it in at Holt or Melton Surgery. For a copy, click here.

Feedback
During this start-up period, we expect to experience a few teething issues but are keen to evolve and develop our systems as we learn what does and doesn’t work with the Boxes and our patients. We would be so grateful if you could let us know any constructive feedback that you may have from your personal experiences that might help us improve. You can provide this feedback online or in person.
