Surgery closures for staff training

Holt Medical Practice closes once a month (usually the first week of the month) for 2 hours for staff training on a Wednesday or a Thursday.

During this time, urgent calls will be answered by Medicom and the doors and Pharmacy remain closed for general enquiries or collections of administration or medication.

Staff training closure dates for 2024 are:

  • Wednesday 6th March 2024
  • Thursday 11th April 2024
  • Wednesday 1st May 2024
  • Thursday 6th June 2024
  • Wednesday 3rd July 2024
  • Wednesday 31st July 2024
  • Wednesday 4th September 2024
  • Thursday 3rd October 2024
  • Wednesday 6th November 2024
  • Thursday 5th December 2024

Reminders will be posted at all three surgeries in advance of each date.

On these training days:

  • Holt Medical Practice will close between 12:30pm and 2:30pm
  • Melton Constable and Blakeney will both close at midday
  • Melton Constable will reopen at 3pm

However, no samples can be accepted at this Surgery during this time, please take these to our main Surgery at Holt Medical Practice, High Kelling. Space in the car park will be limited due to scaffolding, please be patient and bear with us during this time.

Phone lines

At Holt Surgery we operate one main telephone number for all three sites on 01263712461.

From March 2023, between 1pm and 2pm, Monday to Friday, our phones will be closed and any urgent calls will be answered by Medicom who will be able to assist with any emergencies. At 2pm, the phonelines will reopen as usual for the afternoon.

Extended opening hours

We offer extended opening hours every Tuesday evening 6:30pm-8pm, and Saturday Morning 9am-12:30pm at Holt Medical Practice.

In addition we offer telephone appointments every Saturday afternoon, 1pm-5pm. These appointments are with either a GP, a nurse practitioner or paramedic.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
