Due to retirement, we are looking for an enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our experienced Nursing Team for up to 3 days per week at Holt Medical Practice.

We are proud to be the East of England RCGP Practice Nurse Team of the Year 2026 and are looking for someone who shares our commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

About Holt Medical Practice

Holt Medical Practice cares for approximately 14,500 patients and has 7 GP Partners. Our experienced and supportive clinical team includes Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Phlebotomists. We use EMIS as our clinical system.

Our main site in Holt is a modern, spacious, purpose-built surgery with an integrated pharmacy on site. We also have a branch surgery in the nearby village of Melton Constable.

Although we are a busy practice, we pride ourselves on maintaining a relaxed, friendly and supportive working environment.

The role

The successful candidate will undertake a combination of chronic disease management and routine practice nurse appointments.

We value providing quality patient care, so our appointment times range from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the appointment type. Sessions include protected tea breaks and dedicated administration time.

Practice Nurses work across both our Holt and Melton Constable sites and benefit from excellent support, with open-door access to our duty GPs and experienced Nurse Manager whenever needed.

Benefits

  • 6 weeks’ annual leave
  • NHS Pension Scheme
  • Additional MDU indemnity
  • Up to one week’s paid study leave, subject to Partner agreement
  • Staff discount at our on-site pharmacy

About you

We are looking for a confident, motivated Practice Nurse with experience in General Practice nursing and chronic disease management. However, training will be considered for the right candidate.

A prescribing qualification is desirable but not essential.

You will have:

  • Excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills
  • Good IT skills
  • A sound understanding of QOF, Enhanced Services and CQC/NICE guidance
  • A positive attitude and team-focused approach

Above all, we are looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, and a good sense of humour always goes down well!
