Holt area caring society (HACS)

The Holt Area Caring Society (HACS) is a local charity that drives patients to their medical appointments.

The Society has a pool of volunteers who drive patients of the Holt Practice to their medical appointments. These are normally to surgeries and hospitals but also cover dental, physiotherapy, podiatry appointments etc.

Drivers are not paid for these journey, but patients are asked to make a contribution to car expenses. Drivers carry a list of recommended donations.

If you wish to use the service, please contact the co-ordinator Liz Tranier on 01263 711243. Patients should try to give as much notice as possible; very often Liz is unable to find a driver for a last minute appointment.

HACS is always keen to attract more drivers. Anyone considering volunteering to help should contact the Chair, Mrs Peta Benson, on 01263 713605.

Help with transport

If you have problems with transport to the surgery or hospital, please ask reception (via an admin query) for information on the help available. If you need an appointment and have problems with transport, please make this clear to us and we will try to give you a pre-booked appointment at a time that suits your transport needs
