Recordings by Patients, Visitors or Staff
Patient and staff recording policy
Confidentiality is very important to all of us. For this reason, we have created a clear and short policy about recordings at our surgeries by patients, visitors or staff when at any of our sites. Breaches of this policy could result in breaches of confidentiality, data protection law, employment law and could also result in libel action
Digitalisation of paper records
There is growing emphasis in the NHS for GP Surgeries to go paperless. Part of this process would be to digitise all GP paper records. This simply means scanning the current paper copy to create a new digital copy which can be kept in your main GP record. Paper copies will then be destroyed. For some patients, this has already happened.
We would like to assure patients that a full assessment of how your data will be managed and kept secure will be undertaken before any digitisation starts and for all contracts we would require full sign-off from our Data Protection Officer.
As always please do check our main privacy policy for more information and if you have any questions or concerns regarding this notice, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
